Hi, I'm a volunteer with the Maryland Democrats. Here's the Democratic sample ballot. Question 3 is at the end of the ballot. It's Maryland's chance to stand up to Trump, and we're asking everyone to vote for it.
What Question 3 does
- Clarifies that Maryland's constitutional redistricting rules apply only to state legislative districts, not congressional districts, and allows the Maryland Supreme Court to directly review congressional maps. What am I voting on?
Question 3 is a statewide ballot amendment that gives Maryland voters, not politicians, the power to decide whether Maryland can respond to Trump's illegal power grab. When Trump pushes Republican states like Texas and Florida to redraw their maps and give MAGA more power than they could fairly win at the ballot box, Question 3 gives Maryland a legal tool to fight back.
Isn't this just gerrymandering?
Trump ordered states like Florida and Texas to add Republican seats in Congress so they can stay in power, without a vote from the people. Maryland gets a vote. Question 3 puts Maryland on a level playing field with other states.

Election Districts – General Assembly and Representatives in Congress
FOR the purpose of clarifying that certain requirements apply only to districts for the election of members of the Senate of Maryland and the House of Delegates; authorizing the General Assembly to grant original jurisdiction to the Supreme Court of Maryland to review the congressional districting plan of the State; and providing that nothing in the Maryland Constitution provides applicable criteria for the boundaries of a congressional districting plan. (Amending Article III of the Maryland Constitution)

At the polls
- Stay outside the electioneering boundary. It is marked at each polling place, and the election judges can show you where it is.
- Offer the sample ballot to everyone. If someone says no, thank them and let them go.
- Keep it short and friendly. Never argue with a voter or another campaign's volunteer.
- Do not take photos of voters or ballots, and never go inside the voting room.
- If anything goes wrong, call your county contact. If a voter is turned away or has a problem voting, tell your county contact right away.
